I guess the new rule is that superhero costumes have to have pattern and texture or else they’re lame.
I’ll still be surprised if Man of Steel can manage to create genuinely compelling drama with an invincible superhero.

I have only two, tiny requests for the new Spiderman:
- Have Spiderman make wise-cracks like he does in the comics, and
- Webbing under the arm
I had hoped - foolishly, as it turns out - that WB and Snyder might try to find something new to do with Superman, maybe dig into his deep history and find a villain we’d never seen, with strange and wonderful cinema-lovely powers that would amaze and thrill us and make us fall in love with Superman all over again.
But, naturally, no. We’ll get EXACTLY the same thing as ever before, wrapped up all new and fancy, just like Singer did, because it’s familiar and comfortable and - most importantly - cost-effective and path-of-least-resistancey for the studio.
What a boring piece of news. Creativity be damned.
