Anyone else feel like this movie and Galaxy Quest have the same premise?
YES! That’s exactly what I said when I saw Galaxy Quest for the first time.
[Edit: doctornecessiter reminds us that A Bug’s Life has that same premise as well.]

Another great review of Star Trek:
“Yes, this was a very flashy, action-filled, exciting piece of mind candy. You’ll long remember the special effects after you’ve forgotten the storyline.”
by spacedebris
Perfect.
OK, seriously done now.
J.J. Abrams decided to film a script with so many plot and credibility holes that it could double as a hunk of Gorgonzola; and, by his own admission, embraced a film-making sensibility that was the polar opposite of the franchise concept in order to try and hook an audience that apparently suffers from attention deficit disorder and a low IQ.
[…]‘Star Trek’ is not ‘Star Wars’. People do not want ‘Star Trek’ to be ‘Star Wars’. If they want to watch ‘Star Wars’ then they can go and watch ‘Star Wars’.

- darklordzden’s review of the new Star Trek on amazon.com Perfect review. And, yes, I still haven’t gotten over my hatred of the new Star Trek film. But I promise I won’t tumbl about it any more. |

Quick, Robin - To The Geigermobile | toplessrobot.com
Little Known Fact: HR Giger (the dude who did Alien) was asked to do some concept sketches for the Batmobile in Batman Forever.
If you get rid of the wheels and imagine it’s 100x bigger, I think this would be an awesome concept design for the upcoming Alien: Origins as a different ship of the same species as the derelict ship in Alien.
Awesome. That would’ve been a pretty sweet Batmobile, but would an even sweeter alien spaceship.
1) It looks good. They’ve got the look down to a T. That’s step one. Step two, the content and quality of the movie itself, cannot yet be judged by any of us. So STFU.
2) Remakes do not invalidate the original material. Stop being offended by them. At worst, they are unimaginative. If this movie is worse than the TV series, it makes the TV series look good and the remake will be quickly forgotten. If the movie is actually better or as good as the TV series, then we get a good movie and new life for the franchise. Why complain?

3) I am a lifelong A-Team fanatic, so I’m the damn authority on this shit. Don’t step.
Man, as much as I really want to be a hater, I can’t really disagree with point #2.

2001: A Space Odyssey
I can see you’re really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and think things over.
