Go-forward basis
Is any one else as annoyed as I am with the over-usage of the phrase “on a go-forward basis”?  Isn’t everything on a go-forward basis?  Is my boss expecting me to go back in time unless he specifies otherwise?  He seriously uses that phrase at least once per paragraph in his internal memos.

hilker: sometimes i leave a dashboard tab open when i go home from work so that when i come in the next morning i can see how many posts i’m not going to have time to read. "Get Smart" movie review - Much better than...
I was a fan of the Get Smart TV show. Sure, it was campy, silly, and over-the-top, but it was satire… what’d you expect?  The movie removes any spy-genre satire from the docket; after all, Austin Powers has been there, done that (and then some).  So then, the ineptitude of the spy Max Smart, the bread-and-butter of the original show, wouldn’t make sense of the movie is not a...

– Tennessee Center for Policy Research My wife and I paid just over $25 for our last electric bill. I could have bought a new car with the difference between my house and Gore’s - but then, I probably wouldn’t have bought a hybrid, so I guess it’s better this way. A must-read.
hilker: complicatedshoes: sds: A selection from Jonah Goldberg’s Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left, From Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning. It’s quite long, but well worth the read. I’m 160 pages into it, and it’s very informative. _____________________________________________________ […] This kind of skewed rationale gets to the heart of liberal fascism....
